One Summer Day
55
One summer day, it was very hot. I remember it was about 110F. My mother and her friend sitting outside on the balcony talking about whatever they were talking about. I was sitting down by the AC next to my grandma house drawing Buddha picture. I do not know why I like to draw him so much but whenever I draw him, I feel very happy. All the feeling of stress, pain, sorrow, just eased as I draw him. My grandma would make me pumpkin pudding and she know it was my favorite. My dad friend call me “Fatty” because I was so chubby when I was little. He say, come down here and get free snow cone! I said “OHHHH!!!! SNOW CONES!” I rushed my way down stair to grab free snow cones. I gave them to my mother, her friend, my dad, my sister, grandma and me. I shared mine with my cat fluffy. She love snow cones as well.
After eating snow cones, everyone was cool down for a while but then after a few minute…not close to an hour…everyone back to complaining how hot it was. The AC wasn’t working…so therefore we would have to turn on the fan and hid under a tree.
My dad and his friend then decided to share some ghost story from Cambodia to me and my sister and we sat their listening to his stories. Then we overheard our mom complaining with her friend, “Oh Buddha, it is soooooooo hot and could you pour some rain drops on us.” My mother friend started to pray as well. Then all of a sudden, they felt something spraying on the head.
My mother and her friend say, “oh…Buddha hear our prayer.” My mother and her friend touched their head and start to smell the water and it smell like urine. She look up and found out that the cat was on the roof peeing on her and her friend head.
My dad, his friend including I and my sister and grandma started laughing really hard. My grandma said, “Honey, your prayer has been answered! Thank you Buddha!”
