Parent In Action

There are too many young disrespectful, spoiled, and selfish kids out there!! After watching this video, it shows a lot of 'parent power'! I have read many comments below this video and most have disagree with this video but for I, I'll give him a high five! Ain't NO child under my care living in my house disrespect me in any form! Although I don't have children but I totally agree with this video 100% and I would have done the same if I lived in his shoes!
Many have said kids are 'entitled' to express themselves, but really? Saying such bullshit behind their parent back is okay? Plenty of curse words being express like water fountain is okay for some parent? Being treated like a POS is okay right? Than if some of you parent answered yes than you allowed your child to be 'entitled' brats! Be a parent not their friends!
Speaking of paying children to do chores? Really? That is pure pathetic because I don't see why parent should pay their children to do chores. Parent work their butt each day to bring that paycheck home! Water, utilities, house rent, grocery, clothe, health insurance, car insurance, car payment, and so much more that needed to be paid for each freaken month! If you want to get paid, get a job because parent have paid all of these for you kids to spoil at home!
I work since I was 14, hold three jobs and still go to school. I help my parent even though they are one big bullet in my ass sometime! If you can't find yourself a job than at least show your parent some appreciation and help around the house!
And to an end, I LOVE THIS VIDEO!

I don't like that man at all. He scares me. It also scares me that so many people love this video. There are other ways of raising children and teaching them how to be responsible than use your gun. What does that teach children?
Wow! I'd say he was just a little bit angry.
It's tempting to make comments about teaching kids to work for their privilieges.
How to respect a gun and what it can do. There is a movie called Chiefs that deals with the murder and rape of teenage runaway boys. In the movie the young son of one of the Chiefs that are followed through out this movies ends up with his father's gun thinking it only a toy. The Father takes the gun from his son and then shoots a watermelon and it explodes into a hundred pieces. The kid is mortified after this and doesn't even want to touch the gun.
Anyway, great hub on this, and there is a reason that the 5th commandment states honor thy mother and father, and the 10th commandment states thou shall not covet your neighbors goods. It is all about respect. Which brings us to the Commandment that Jesus speaks off "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Once more this is about respect. If you don't respect your parents, how can expect people to respect others. If you don't respect others, why should any body respect you? A valuable lesson was taught in this video.
You are welcome Chanroth. ... And I agree with you regarding Keith Engels comment.
Thank you for the kind comments both of you and for the fanmail Mr. Jim. Unfortunately, due to what is becoming an ever increasingly busy schedule of writing I must humbly decline the offer of getting involved in Pen and Paper RPG games.
Happy Hubbing? Something about that term sounds mischievous for whatever reason.
I know, I was just teasing, I don't know the term hubbing just sort of sounds and reads in a way that is interesting in some cases.
Hmmm for whatever reason didn't get notified you responded. I do my best to be as honest as a person as I can be and rather open. Of course the term does offer interesting writing opportunities.
There are many who are happily hubbing
No matter if there is some stumbling
Or perhaps even some word fumbling
with typos and errors a bumbling
Many still come here to do hubbing
With many words and ideas in the offering
Thanks for posting this Hub, I found it interesting to say the least. It is sad that such extreme measures had to be taken to deal with this situation, but Kudos to him!!! I think it is very sad that people are saying how this guy is out of control, or a bad parent. He was trying to teach his daughter an important life lesson about respect, a lesson she wouldn't forget. The world would be a much better place with more parents like this guy!
Go and check out his facebook page, it is interesting as far as what he has had to do since this video.
don't need a facebook account to view his face book
Well what is the sad commentary about this whole fiasco is first his needing a lawyer for all sorts of stuff. Then second apparently CBS calling to offer him a show or something to that affect.
All of a sudden because a parent decides to actual parenting people are now shocked?
Just saying that all of a sudden because a parent takes a parenting action, one that should be normal, everybody is shocked even the "major" networks and thinks it is something that should be put on TV.
Well he stated on his facebook that he won't do it and the like. I think unfortunately there are far too many of these "reality" shows in the first place and not enough quality TV because of Reality Shows and the current crop of regular TV shows.
I grew up in the 80s and grew up watching the Cosby Show that dealt with values and parenting. There is nothing like the Cosby show currently on TV. For instance here goes a good comparison of TV now and then. There was an episode that dealt with how the Son and his friend were referring to women as Burgers with various toppings on them depending upon how good they looked. The older sister reprimands them on this in that it was wrong to refer to women merely as meat. Now look at what passes as a TV show aimed at kids and so called "parenting" shows.
Culture shouldn't reflect reality, but instead present what we should strive and achieve towards. The reverse has taking place in the last 20 years and the culture and society is a reflection of this as well. It is one of the primary reasons that the only TV show I watch is Merlin, because it actually does deal with some of these issues, and then various shows on History, Discovery and channels like these and sports. If am going to watch TV I want to learn something or be inspired, not see what can take place on my local street corner.
Cheers... I am a parent and I too agree with this video 100 percent. This kid had what was coming to them. I don't even know how people can disagree... ok - maybe I wouldn't have been able to shot the laptop... but I sure could have donated it to someone that could have used it. These parents who disagree with this parent standing up to the snotty child are the same ones probably raising children to think they are entitled. I don't and probably never will give my child an allowance to do ordinary "chores" Now if they went above and beyond - maybe. But as a family - it is everyones responsibility to chip in around the house. The children shouldn't be different. Well said. Great hub! glad someone said it!
I'm for the Dad! YIPPY!!!!
The problem with children is that they are coddled too much. They are not disciplined and can't handle nothing. They need tough love and not psycho babble. As a parent I have tried the nicety stuff. It doesn't work. I am patient then my patient runs out. Sometimes children need a wake up call when everything else doesn't work. This was this child's wake up call. I believe she got the message.
This is so awsome!! We need more parents to stand up and actually PARENT like they're suppoed to!
