The Meanest Mother
67
I have the meanest mother in the whole world
She made me eat cereal, toast, eggs, and milk for breakfast
And every other kid has candy and snacks
For lunch I must eat vegetables, rice, and meat
As other kids eat hamburger, French fries and coke
And I wish I had some of those
For supper I must eat soup, more vegetable, water, and meat
As other kids eat more sweets
I wish I was they indeed but I'm unlucky
And mother must know where I go
Who I hang out with…she must always know
Their name, their face, and time I must be home
And when I disobey
I get hit
And the spank really stings
And when I get older, teenage year
I must wash my clothe, clean the house…dishes
And buy cheap clothe…the thrift store
Living such difficulty, embarrassment
Wearing old rag clothe to school each day
Oh how I wish I wear clothe from the mall so I won’t be strangers from my friends
She taught me to cook every now and then
I must learn she says
And it get boring each time she explain
Sometime I think at night she sleeps
Thinking of what else mean things to do to me
The slowest and painful killing indeed
Outside our yard there was a march
Protesting and rioting in such great parade
Oh how I wish to attend but mother locked me in
Missed out the fun, darn ain’t exciting
But mother happily smiling
Demanding more house work to be done
Dad reading newspaper and drinking coffee
Oh ain’t he lucky!
Mother always cherish him sweets; donut
And now I’m grown up…wiser I must say
The meanest things my mother did to me
Which now I have done to my kids the same
They called me the meanest mother…
Like how I called mine…
Thank God, I have the meanest mother gene...it’s contagious
If it wouldn’t be from her
Then I wouldn’t be
The wises mother…to help her children grow; successful
I know that someday
They will thank me
Like how I thank my mother for being so mean

chanroth,
Greetings from MAKUSR. Few days ago I penned my feelings about my mother in 'Salutations Mother'. You don't understand the love behind the reprimands and controls when you are a kid. It's when you grow up you understand the value of it. Thanks for sharing.
Lots of Love,
MAKUSR
Very interesting and funny, it's amazing how kids see this so true when your a kid but when you grow older you realize this was out of love, gave it up, and all the goodies, thanks for sharing
oh, it's great to have a mean mother who always take care of all your needs and know how to raise a child...great poem...
charoth: lol, that's so funny my mother hid the goodies in the trunk of her car, it's didn't do much good once we found out we would take turns on watch and sneak in the trunk to get them, wow it's amazing as children how we don't understand until were an adult how life really is, we finally get the picture once we become parents.
it's amazing how motherhood repeats itself over and over again, wow have a good one thanks so much for sharing this hub..have a great day
chanroth ,so very true. At that point of time we sure don't like wat we go through but only appreciate this as adults. this cycle repeats itself when we are parents.
thanks for a wonderful read.
This is an awesome hub Chanroth. I love the message. As kids, we don't see things as clear as they really are. It takes years later to appreciate everything are parents have did for us.
